Lunchtime Conservation Conversation: Geomorphology for Stream Restoration Planning

Event Details
Join MWCC and Karin Boyd, a fluvial geomorphologist with Applied Geomorphology in Bozeman, on March 16 for an hour of learning, sharing, and connecting about stream geomorphology and restoration planning over lunch.
In developing any restoration strategy, it is critical to understand the historic and anticipated future trajectory of a stream. This can be described as context, and in many projects it is largely ignored. Karin will provide examples of how a lack of context in stream restoration planning can lead to poor outcomes, resiliency, or cost-benefit ratios – and how to avoid these mistakes in your own projects.
MWCC’s Lunchtime Conservation Conversations begin with a brief (10- to 15-minute) presentation by one of MWCC’s network partners on a topic relevant to local watershed conservation. The rest of the hour is dedicated to questions and discussion. Registration for all lunchtime Conservation Conversations is free.
