The Montana DNRC Water Resources Division is leading a comprehensive review of the Montana Water Use Act and associated regulations and policies to ensure water administration and management is serving the current and future water needs of Montana. During the first phase we solicited feedback to develop our Draft Key Water Challenges and proposed action plans to address the identified issues.
Now the work begins. Individual Stakeholder Working Groups are meeting for the first time to collaboratively discuss how to address two – Final Decree Transition and Changes, Mitigation & Exceptions – of the identified Key Water Challenges. The working meetings are open to the public for observation with opportunities to submit comments during a brief public comment period at each meeting or online at any time.
The first meeting for the Stakeholder Working Group focusing on Changes, Mitigation and Exceptions is Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in room 102 of the Capitol.
The public is invited to view the meeting online. Advance registration through Zoom is required.
