Event Details
Join the Friends as we head towards Hole-in-the-Wall Campground on Saturday, March 19th to restore cottonwood groves along the mighty Missouri River for this year’s 9th Annual Cottonwood Planting!
Since 2013, the Friends have been planting young cottonwoods within the boundaries of the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument in an effort to repair and restore the aging cottonwood galleries that provide wildlife habitat, bank stabilization, recreational opportunities and intrinsic beauty to the landscape.
So far we have planted close to 1,000 trees with the help of more than 150 amazing volunteers!
We will be meeting volunteers in Geraldine at 8:30 AM and departing at 9 AM for Hole-in-the-Wall. Gloves, tools, drinks, and lunch will be provided. Work for the day will wrap up at 4:30 PM.
Help us make a lasting impact on the Monument by signing up to volunteer!
