Join MWCC and Jeff Ryan, supervisor for the Lewis & Clark Conservation District, on Wednesday, February 23 for an hour of learning, sharing, and connecting about soft stream bank restoration over lunch.
Jeff has advised and helped develop dozens of stream and river restoration projects across the state, using willows to reduce erosion and improve habitat from Billings to the Beaverhead. Jeff will share the benefits and challenges of this work, provide examples, and highlight an educational StoryMap of a project on the Upper Musselshell that he co-created with MWCC, the Upper Musselshell Conservation District, and the Musselshell Watershed Coalition. Jeff received a 2021 Watershed Stewardship Award for his efforts and expertise.
MWCC’s Lunchtime Conservation Conversations begin with a brief (10- to 15-minute) presentation by one of MWCC’s network partners on a topic relevant to local watershed conservation.
