This summer, as always, Montana’s locally led watershed groups will bring people together to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face: drought; reduced streamflows and warming waters; invasive species; increased wildfire activity; and growing recreational use of our lands and waterways, to name just a few.
Using what we have termed the Watershed Approach to conservation (collaborative, consensus-based), these organizations are finding common ground across political and other divides to make a sustainable difference for our natural resources and the communities that rely on them.
We invite you to connect with these groups and their vital work from June through September during the Montana Watershed Coordination Council’s (MWCC) #WatershedSummer campaign on Instagram and Facebook. We will highlight different local watershed groups from across the state, from Flathead Lake to the Musselshell River and beyond.
If you want a sneak peak on who we might be highlighting, check out our Watershed Directory!

#WatershedSummer social media campaign celebrates one of Montana’s greatest treasures, WATER, and those who work every day to protect it. To close out the 2025 campaign and close out summer, it’s time for some fun IRL (in real life)!
Will be using Scoreholio (https://share.scoreholio.com/qfdIzgRwnVb) for scorekeeping.
We have noted the portion of each registration that is a tax-deductible donation to MWCC. Most of the registration costs cover the event, but to make a custom donation with your registration, please use the custom donation box below the Spectator Registration.
