Capacity Funding to Improve Water Quality and Reduce Nonpoint Source Pollution

This project was funded by a Big Sky Watershed Corps Cost Share Capacity grant from the MWCC Watershed Fund.

Project Description

BSWC Member Daniel Holder focused on restoration efforts in the Bull River, a tributary of the Lower Clark Fork River, planting and protecting more than 450 trees and shrubs along the mainstem and East Fork of the Bull River with the help of volunteers and community partners. Daniel also helped the watershed group and Sanders County Conservation District with their community and landowner outreach efforts and worked with the watershed group’s state and federal partners on ground water monitoring, electrofishing, and other monitoring efforts at past and future restoration sites.

  • 50 Community Partners engaged
  • 7 Conservation Practices implemented
  • 100 Acres made more resilient to changing conditions
  • 20 miles of stream bank restored
  • 454 Trees and Shrubs planted
